Script Development workshop with Rosa Torr
COURSE 2: SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT
This course is for those who already have the beginnings or a rough draft of a play or script but don’t know how to progress with it and need support to get it off the ground. We’ve all gone forward with an idea thinking it will be a groundbreaking piece of theatre, only to come to a stand still and lose momentum as well as confidence in the idea. If you have a scene you’d like to push, a monologue, or even a first draft you want to develop then this is the course for you. In the sessions you will embark on a playwriting process of story development, structure, character development and most importantly guided feedback sessions where you can gain support and test out new ideas in a safe and educational environment. These are not lectures in the ‘art of playwriting’, rather a series of fast-paced guided workshops where, through a series of exercises, you will unlock your creative potential. The course will culminate in a night of play reading where a short extract of your play will be read by professional actors.
Please note that due to the rapid pace of the course, you will need to dedicate time outside of the classes to complete your scripts.
